Joint Transit delivers products in 4 different classes, each uniquely targeted at specific user groups,
and additionally offers direct access to KPN Wholesale (AS286) transit:
Wholesale & Telco products are aimed at users with 'large traffic volumes'
which require the 'lowest price per Mbit/s'.
These products feature a basic upstream mix, a very
low effective price per Mbit/s coupled with a traffic committment (or flat rate solution) and
burstable ports.
See also the Wholesale
and Telco product pricing.
The Carrier grade productgroup is the 'top of the line' within the Joint Transit portfolio.
They feature a
wide geographic mix of multiple upstreams,
redundancy via dual session routing,
seperate NL routing for maximum local performance,
0 Mbit/s committment (still fully burstable),
advanced (D)DOS mitigation.
See also the Carrier product pricing.
The Provider products pair a 'lower cost per Mbit/s' with a small traffic commitment.
The products include an agreed minimum traffic volume (commitment) in the monthly tariff,
which enables a lower effective price per Mbit/s. Only traffic over the committed level
is billed in arrears.
Further the products are fully burstable upto the port speed. Traffic bursts of less then 36 hours
are free of charge (see the
95% model).
And finally they offer a good geographic mix of multiple upstreams.
See also the Provider product pricing.
The Business products are perfectly suited as an 'entrypoint' for all standard
types of Internet routing.
They offer a
good geographic mix of multiple upstreams,
either BGP full routing (over 350.000 routes) or default routing (suited for
routers with less memory) and offer a
0 Mbit/s committment (still fully burstable) which
makes them perfectly suited if you do not have a large traffic volume (yet), if you are looking
for a backup transit or if you have mainly Dutch traffic (which you handle seperately) and
are need a solution for the remaining small volume of International traffic.
See also the Business product pricing.
The KPN Wholesale Transit products offer a direct BGP session to a AS286 router, providing
the full KPN Wholesale IP Transit service, featuring direct routes to many Dutch
Internet destinations including all local dutch customers of KPN, as well as superb
global routing.
This product is a single-carrier, single BGP session product. It is very well suited
if direct access at maximum performance to a large part of the Dutch market (including
KPN customers) is important for you, if short AS paths and direct top-level connectivity
is key for you or if it's important for your business to have your Internet traffic be
carried over a Dutch network under Dutch juristiction.
It can be used as a standalone product, but also as an add-on to other Joint Transit services.
